Stanley Anderson's prints are held in many public collections, in galleries, libraries and print rooms.  For a variety of reasons, in most cases the prints are not on general display, consequently it is advisable to contact the gallery concerned, in advance, to check that you can gain access to view their collection.

Personally, I have found that the vast majority of galleries are only too pleased to make prints available to view after contacting them in advance.

The principal collection within the United Kingdom is held at The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.

The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

The Ashmolean Museum has the most extensive collection of works by Stanley Anderson.  The foundation of this collection was the Arthur Mitchell bequest which was catalogued by Ian Lowe and Stanley Anderson in the 1960’s.  The collection has been enhanced since the original bequest and in May 2014 comprised of:

204 final proof prints
116 prior state prints
70 drawings/sketches/watercolours

All are located in the Print Room; it is advisable to telephone in advance to ensure access.

Contact for access information.
